I'm in the process of grinding some new laps for the lab, being somewhat an old timer, I used to check the lap curves using the brass gauges, just made sure there was a bit of light at the edges when checking them. However now I'm using a sag gauge and compensating about a .06d for pad compensation, thus making a 6.00d lap around 6.06, my question is if this a correct compensation for all tool curves or should I compensate more on higher laps and less on flatter ones.
Thanks for any help on this.
