Prediction: Kerry/Edwards will win, and win big. Worse news for Bush: recovery is slowing down, which of course if what recoveries do. Job growth while under what one would have wanted last month, had a very nice roll there for a while, but what with the other news, never seemed to get Bush much positive lift. Unfortunately for Bush, people really won't start paying attention til Labor Day, at which point the Dems will point to the flattening recovery.

You can wind up successful in transforming Iraq and changing the dynamics, and that may make it worth it, but that doesn't mean [transforming Iraq] was the cause [that provided the] legitimacy to go. "A new poll of Iraqis shows that 68 percent have confidence in the interim government, 73 percent approve of Prime Minister Iyad Allawi, and 84 percent approve of President Ghazi Yawar. Nearly 80 percent of Iraqis expect that the new government will “make things better” for Iraq after the handover."
In January, the Iraqis are scheduled to have national elections. Iraq is steadily moving towards freedom and Democracy because of George Bush's planning and steady leadership.
27) So far, artillery shells containing mustard gas, sarin, & cyclosarin have been found in Iraq. Furthermore, former chief weapons inspector David Kay also pointed out that Iraq was "working to produce a (chemical) weapon using the poison ricin until the American invasion last March". Also, Kay noted in his interim report that the Iraqis planned to produce more weapons,
"Even those senior officials we have interviewed who claim no direct knowledge of any on-going prohibited activities readily acknowledge that Saddam intended to resume these programs whenever the external restrictions were removed.".
Thanks to George Bush, Saddam's WMD's, however many he had of them, aren't going to be a threat in the future.

Quite frankly, any war on terrorism that didn't tackle that nest of vipers would have been a war in name only. Going after them showed George Bush's leadership against the global scourge of terrorism.
29) In Iraq, we removed Saddam Hussein, an anti-American tyrant & sponsor of terrorism who started two wars of aggression in the region while he simultaneously raped, tortured, and butchered his own people with a zeal matched by few figures in modern history. Once the war began, the performance of our military was incomparable. Saddam's forces were defeated, scattered to the four winds in less than a month, even as the press, a week into the war, was again baying the dreaded "V word" loud and often. George Bush made it possible.

I agree that most of this is too ridiculous for serious comment. But re #6 (gay marriage issue). As a nation, we failed to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment to guarantee equality for women. Now some clowns want us to ratify an amendment that guarantees UNequal rights for another segment of the population? Well, at least women will get one mention...they can get married (but only if they marry a man).
Good for Kerry for not wanting to burden the Constitution with unbridled bigotry. And apparently the majority of the Senate agrees.

Bald dudes with a comb-over
People who can't spell
Figure skating as an Olympic sport
People who think snowboarding is a political issue
And the list goes on. None of these things that I can't "agree" with, however, rises to the level of a Constitutional Amendment on par with Freedom of Speech, Freedom of Religion, and such. I have heard that there are people, misguided as they are, that like both the Yankees and Figure Skating. It skeeves me out just thinking about it, but oh well, I'll just lock the doors tonight. I know they're going to Hell. I got no problem with dudes holding hands, as long as they're not wearing Yankee hats. Yuck. I apologize to everyone who got a bad visual from that.
I got married just last week. Can't say that there was a gauntlet of gay folks standing in the way, attacking marriage as we know it, disrupting the ceremony. I didn't have to endure lesbians assaulting the preacher, queens masquerading as the bride to distract me, or endure taunts of "Breeder! Repent! And then marry your Uncle!". It was actually kinda peaceful. There was no slippery slope to bestiality, incest, or any other bizarre linkage you've conjured up. Not sure what you're defending, but I'm certain it doesn't apply to me.

I didn't conjure it up. Scalia did as a warning saying there are no limits on where the ruling in question would end. His words not mine.
In seven or so years when your daughter/son comes home after reading her assigned reading material from government schools, titled "Susie has two Mommies" and ask the question, Why she/he dosen't have two mommies?
What will your answer be?
Will you feel the same way about it then?
