    Worst Song Ever...

Okay, let's try nominations for the worst song ever recorded. I would like to start things off with a few "UN-favorites" of mine.

    Secret Agent Man
    In the Year 2525
    Leader of the Pack

" Total eclipse of the heart" - Bonnie Tyler

Jana-Toto Cuelo sang "I eat cannibals". I am a HUGE Oingo Boingo fan so I cannot let you sully their reputation :bbg: Danny Elfman is a genius (and married to Bridget Fonda which just goes to show that a geeky guy can get the cute girl!) I am the queen of obscure 80's songs. Does anybody remember Chicken Outlaw???

    OOOPS!!!

Sorry Karen.... I just remember the song as being the worst thing I have ever heard!

I think we need to give honerable mention to " Party all the time" - Eddie Murphy. I think we can all agree on that eh? :bbg:

Leader of the Pack, Dead Man's Curve and the primo teenage car/motorcycle accident song: Teen Angel. What a bizarre genre!!!

I can barely remember what I had to eat last night, but this stuff stays with you forever......

Sorry Robert... any song that talks about your date dying in your arms is just destined for my "worst ever" list. Let's see, songs where people die-

    Last Kiss
    Bad Bad Leroy Brown
    Leader of the Pack
    The Year Clayton Delaney Died
    Billy Don't Be a Hero
    Alone Again (Naturally)
    Ironic
    Papa Was a Rollin' Stone
    I Shot the Sheriff

There must be 100s out there, I suppose...

    My vote for worst song.......

is cast for "Teen Angel" circa 1966. Heroine dies in car on tracks.......

DEFINITELY NOT to be confused with "Earth Angel" by the Penguins......one of the best golden oldies ever recorded!
    Cousin Robert has GREAT taste!

Actually, on the topic of songs where people die (but I actually kinda like this song), Ode to Billy Joe is just one of the creepiest songs I've ever heard. I was driving home from our cabin really late one night through the mountains and that song came on and just completely creeped me out for some reason (I listen to it other times with no particular effect, but that particular night...).

Funny story related to that song. When Maria visited the States some time back, she said her mum wanted "a picture of the bridge." I was a bit confused until I realized she had confused Tallahassee with the Tallahache mentioned in the song!

    We built this city

I think it was voted #1 by Blender magazine, I second that one.

    Pete,
Ironic is a terrible song, I don't recall an example of irony in the whole song, but I guess "coincedence" isn't a great song song title either.

How about "favorite song that everyone else hates"? In my case, that would be Tubthumping by Chumbawumba.

Now Pete, Sheriff John Brown wasn't anybody's date in I Shot the Sheriff. Does that help?

"Funny Little Clown", "Honey", really anything by Bobby Goldsboro (???) And in a completely different vein, how could we forget Frank Zappa's "Up Against the Wall, Mother******".

That theme song from Titanic sung by Celine Dion. Just how many times can all of the pop radio stations play one song over and over and over.
