    Ho hum...
    Our worst nightmare...breaking a customer's OWN frame.
ARRRRRRRRRRGH. Well, yes, this Mermaid did JUST that. And the frame is APPARENTLy no longer in existance....

Unless one of my fellow Optiboarders can help??
    It's a Fellini...a Drill Mount...for a HUGE eyesize - we're talkin' 62!

    HELP????!!!

    Mermaid,

hate to hear the news & I know how bad you feel ...... been in the same shoes ....... it's always the patient's favorite frame of a lifetime and discontinued

I have some old Tura vintage drill mounts and a few odds & ends, but can't help on the Fellini

can you post a digital image of the broken mounting

Jan, Just been thinking about this since you told me about it; have you considered sending the broken one out to Hilco to reweld, they do a remarkable job on these things...
sort of a funny posting here, two Fort Worth friends posting to a Fort worth lady, displace in florida....Hmmmm. best wishes...

    FABULOUS suggestions!!
Didn't even think of WELDING the frame, Allio!!
Luckily, this man was VERY cool about the whole deal - even tho it WAS "his favorite" frame (Yes, Billy B.!!)...yada yada yada....
After some MASSIVE catalogue searching, found a Guess Drill Mount that is similar...but with TWo drill holes instead of one.
Thinking I'll just send the whole deal BACk to the lab to drill and mount as needed.....

But WELDING....that's a great option tooooooooo!!

Gosh, how I miss that warm and friendly TEXAS style....but wouldn't change the FL weather for the world!! Not to mention the BEACH!

    giggggggggggle

Hmmmph..."Fellini" sounds like a type of SEASHELL, eh?! giggle

    welding...

    Hi Optiboarders,

I have been a Chinese cowboy for almost 3 months now and just got back from Mongolia!

Mermaid---Can I fix/repair your frame for you with no charge??? I recently learned micro-welding technique from Japan and I want to see if I could fix "everything". I will plate the frame and try to bring back its origional look if I could.

    Thanks

    Jerry

Have you tried frametrader.com yet? I have not even logged on, but it sounds like just what you are looking for. It's a pooling spot for all the old discontinued stuff that everyone wants to get rid of. You just might find your frame there! :)

Oh- one more thing. It is SOLDER, not weld
:finger: I'm visualizing a guy touching a frame with the old welding rod - POOF! LOL
