About 12 miles southwest of Page, Arizona and on the road to Lee's Ferry, there are a number of huge boulders that have fallen off the Verimilion Cliffs, including one called 'Balanced Rock'. The first time we were there 4 years ago, I thought to myself that someday I'd like to go back up there and do a nighttime shoot of the rocks and the Milky Way. Monday,. Marlena and I drove up there and waited until night so we could try and get the shots I wanted. Here's one of those pictures, featuring Balanced Rock. (For perspective, the rock is at least 30 feet tall.)

I believe so - or at the least, a vehicle with higher clearance than my silly little Hyundai Sonata! :) My friend Jaime is taking us down in his truck. He was in Kanab a few weeks back teaching at the annual nightscaper photography conference, and they made the short trip down to WP then as well, and he's been dying to get back.
