I have to say a big thanks to all the Brits that are now using this little oasis of British optics. As you will have no dob't have noticed we are now a fully fledged forum :bbg:
I would also like to say that i had reservations on how well a Brit forum would do :hammer: and for once am pleased to be proved wrong.

Lets keep up the stiff typing finger...

Don't want to be pedantic, but why is it called United Optical Kingdom, rather than something that makes sense?

Because we're not United, although pretty much Optical and we're not a Kingdom (Queendom doesn't sound quite the same), works for me.:D

Well i thought that we live in the United Kingdom & we are involved in the Optical world....
So out poped United Optical Kingdom
As Steve said The title was open to suggestions but they made even less sense. :hammer:

i was among those sceptical people who thought this could take a while to take off because of the presence of monoptica...but felt that because of the superior software here, many would come slowly.

I am glad that it after only a few weeks, we now have over 500 posts, and growing everyday.

keep it goin' lad (oh, and gals - had to add this bit to avoid the wrath of Sarah:bbg: :bbg: )

In all fairness though, many of those posts were UK-oriented threads that I transfered from the International Optics forum. Nonetheless I'm very pleased with the response so far and I'm confident this forum will continue to grow rapidly. :)
