We are at -15F here right now, and dropping....haven't seen temps like this in 8 years! (OK...Jacqui, I know you probably have) but we usually get the snow without the extreme cold.

I don’t mind the snow, it comes and it goes, it melts. But the cold burns, it drains my mind of hope. Anymore would be no more. Boo to you, mister cold.

My cactus' hate this cursed cold! Another day of only 65 degrees! If this keeps up I may have to put on a long sleeve shirt!
We're way down into double digits here in Phoenix. Brrrrrr!

It's only going to get to mid 70's here today!
For relief during work hours, this is the best hot chocolate mix that I've sampled.

For Miller time, and if your a boozehound (who isn’t), a triple Irish coffee warms the bones, accompanied by significant attitude adjustment.
If you're in Colorado or Washington, I'd recommend the Michoacan.

Fairbanks is 20 degrees warmer than we are today.
I must say the "Polar Vortex" has caught hold as it sounds so much more ominous than artic air mass that we grew up with.
As usual we'll all be complaining of the extreme heat soon enough but I like the seasonal changes as I generally find myself continuously going from one climate controlled environment to another!
High Today Was 1 degree...last night -20 something. Wind chills -30+ so I think 20 Degrees is tropical!!
Two weeks ago it was 28 here in Panama City Fl. (panhandle).
I called family in TN and told them I was coming home its to cold in FL. It was 42 there.
At noon I checked with them again it had dropped to 1 above.
Told them scratch that idea, grabbing sunblock and bathing suit. Going to vacation in Maine instead. It was 53 at my inlaws house in Skowhegan.
First week in February I will be in Maine for real. Snow gear or shorts?
I could never live with the cold and snow...unfortunately we have been having a very warm winter which is giving us "summer-like" fires.
Cold...my gardenia tree is not looking good. The gardenia bushes elsewhere are more protected. I am watching all of my azaleas.. Dunno yet. I probably have more than 100 in my yard. I cannot cover everything.

Anything worth doing is worth doing well.
That's not fair.
Milwaukee just issued a frozen beer warning. God help us!
But not as ominous, and definitely not as illustrative as the more proper term 'Anal Vortex'.I must say the "Polar Vortex" has caught hold as it sounds so much more ominous than artic air mass that we grew up with.

Don't worry Robert. I'm saving a warm Busch beer just for you!
-12 and dropping here.
It's -3F and dropping... high for the day estimated at 15F. We have about 10 more days to go with this. Only the plumbers are making $$$ (frozen pipes), and schools are delayed because of the wind chill (-18F). I am sooooooooooooo ready for SPRING!!!

High today in the low teens.
I figure I'll be exposed to it for at most 5 whole minutes!
(OK I'll admit I'd rather be golfing in Boca)
Raining in Anchorage today's high 41.

Propane shortage in Wisconsin
Citing another wave of frigid weather bearing down on Wisconsin and "dangerously low" supplies of propane, Gov. Scott Walker on Saturday declared a state of emergency and authorized the possible call-up of National Guard troops. Walker directed all state agencies "to assist as appropriate" in helping residents deal with the propane shortage, which has sent prices soaring and left some users struggling to find a supplier who will provide fuel.
Nearly 250,000 Wisconsin homes heat with propane, many in rural areas not served by natural gas lines. Industry veterans said they've never seen anything like the current situation. "Not even close," said Tom Cole, a fourth-generation owner of Cole Oil & Propane in Lomira.

Please return our wayward winter weather! We're missing it greatly!
We've been in the +40s to +50s for weeks. My yard has no snow left in it, there should be over 2 ft!
Almost froze my a** off in San Francisco today.
