Does anyone know of a good place to read PAL white papers online? I seem to be having some trouble finding them.

Lindsay, Welcome to Optiboard! Where in California are you?
Zeiss is the only company right now that is regularly publishing white papers, thanks to Darryl Meister. Seiko does so intermittantly. I have tried to get them from the rest without much luck. You generally have to go way up in the chain to get them other than those two companies, and in many cases Essilor often doesn't give white papers out to even their sales reps. Infact, I have never ever seen a Hoya white paper despite many requests.
To get an Essilor technical question on the Azio lens answered last year, I had to go the Vice President of Products level, and he was French, if that tells you anything.
A few years ago, because of the lack of good information and white papers, we started doing our own research using lens maps, patent applications and optical principles. I and others share some of it on Optiboard here. Unfortunately, its still imperfect.
Optiboard right now is the best source of Progressive info outside of your own research. It should be different, but it just isnt'. Sorry. But you can contact Darryl here, he is a great source of honest information and Zeiss gives out many white papers willingly.
You can find some at Darryl's OptiCampus.com site here: http://opticampus.com/tools/downloads.php
