Blue Jumper New Frame Design Patent!

    Hello,

I have an idea for a frame design that I would like to bring into production. I am in the midst of drawing what it should look like to get quotes on samples.

Is there any advice someone can offer about obtaining patents? What companies abroad should I request quotes from?
What is the cheapest way to start?

    Anything would be helpful, thanks.

Contact Jerry Huang on this Board about how to manufacture your frame.

As for a patent, you might want to familiarize yourself with the information on the US Patent and trademark Office site:

    http://www.uspto.gov/main/patents.htm

Although not absolutely necessary, it does help to hire an attorney that deals with patent law. However if you decide to do it yourself, you'll need to do a lot of research to make sure your patent doesn't infringe on prior art.

One thing you might want to consider is filing for a Provisional Patent. Here's the link:

    http://www.uspto.gov/web/offices/pac/provapp.htm

    Good luck!

    Hello mphilia,

I can help you on frame manufacturing and sign a confidentiality agreement means I (recipient of information) can not release your invention to others after I reveal your information (information owner). Confidential information includes without limitation:
    --Business records and plans.
    --Trade secrets.
    --technical information.
    --Products.
    --Inventions.
    --Product design information.
    --Pricing structure.
    --Costs.
    --copyrights and other intellectual property.
    --prototype.

I will be able to tell you the cost after I review your design and suggest you the cheapest way to manufacture it.

You may obtain a patent base on a new design or function/concept. A technical drawing is a must. Your patent lawyer must have the technical drawing to run the patent search for you to make sure it does not infringe others.

I strongly suggest you to hire a lawyer instead of DIY, because they know how to write the enforceabe language to protect your best interest in case.......................??

It takes about 1 1/2 years to obtain a US patent. Then I still suggest you to go further and apply Japanese and German patent because these two countries are high margin market. Don't forget to apply the Chinese patent neither, it is the international brench of Kinko's.

If there is anything I may assist you, please feel free to contact me at: eyetailorjerry@yahoo.com

    Thanks

    Jerry

    1. No more magnetic clip-on,please! There are more than 10 different patents relate to magnetic clips already, therefore, the market share is getting smaller and smaller. The origional patent holder issued the right to Aspex and they are suiting everybody!

I met the patent holder during Vision Expo, New York and he is still staying in NY because he is suiting Espirt Company right now.
