    Blast from the past

    Just a quick not to let you guys know I have sucsessfully made the transfer to 100% self employment

    I am now a full time freelance website designer and wedding photographer, and just do a few Optician locum days a year. Life is good!

    Welcome to the world of the self-employed. :)

    How are you handling the insurance issue? It's costing us an arm and leg for insurance that would still result in bankruptcy if either of us had a serious illness. But hey, that's the 'free market' for ya.

    I have to have 2 lots - one for the website design one for the photogrpahy - so 2 lots of imdemnity and 2 lots of liability. The rates on the imdemnity for the webdesign rub a bit

    Unless you mean the health insurance, which pans out a bit different in the UK

    N/M: You are in the UK and don't have the medical insurance issues we do in the US. Nonetheless even though we pay more dor medical care that any other industrial nation and get less in return, we're still No. 1! At least that what I've been told.
