I'm sure we would all like to hear how things are going....what challenges are encountered....the similarities & differences from what we face on a daily basis....We have our British friends posting frequently, along with some Australians & Canadians - Sometimes we'll hear from Loomy and then there's always interesting information coming from Sandeep! Once in awhile, Clive will pop into a conversation and we used to hear from Sara (Nairobi, I believe) every now & then but it seems not for a long while.

I know that I enjoy hearing from all the"optical cousins" from beyond the US.

Please join in and tell us how things are where you are --

Hope to hear from you soon --

    John,

"Have you been talking to my mrs"? No, have you?

Being a Yorkshireman I'm a bit disappointed you haven't included God's own county as a separate entry on your poll. In fact it would be more reasonable if you included North, South, West and the newly reintroduced East Yorkshire to save confusion.

Nah, e by gum, appen I'll never do aht fa naht, unless it's fah thisen.

And where can those hailing from the Antarctic hope to tick?

It's cold out here because I've decided to try bareback killer whale riding in the Arctic Ocean.

    Alright, a player!

How many hints do I get??

    And then, how many guesses??

    What's my prize??

Ya never thought of these when you agreed to play, so it's a good thing I did...

How about 0 hints and 1 guess?? No point in belabouring things. Just like Clue, right?

Hhhmmm, my spidey senses are tingling...

I think you work at the Optometry Clinic on 7th & 7th??

I'll take what's behind door number 2, thanks.

I know that the person who made the poll didn't mean anything by it, but I am quite offended. Why isn't Canada represented up there? I do not even want our country listed, but we have America, couldn't we instead of had North America or somewhere else in North America?

Considering that Canada has the third most visitors here, I think it is a slap in the face to have to chose "other".

Since it's impossible to list every country, there are loose catagories, roughly corresponding to continents. Which is why it's Europe, which annoys the Brits, cos we don't like being European. But if Britain was on, it would annoy the Irish, cos they're not British, and the Scots and Welsh, cos they prefer to be 'Scottish' and 'Welsh' rather than British.

To be perfectly honest, most British people (myself included) wouldn't know the difference between 'North America' and 'America'. And, the painful truth is, most Brits see Canada as some sort of self-governing part of America. This is mostly because the accents sound the same to us, and the culture seems (to us) to be the same. Although I'm sure to a Canadian, or an American, there's great differences between the two countries, they seem the same to us.

You may want to take this up with the Canadian Tourist Board :)

I understand that, but it was listed somewhere on this board that Canadians are number 3 on the visiters here. I do not care about having a seperate part for Canadians. I would be quite happy clicking North American, or somewhere else in North America. I just am not an American. It would be like me saying that someone from Europe. should click the Asia part because it is on the same land mass anyways.

Anyways it is no big deal.

    Thread is almost 3

years old. maybe time to start a new one. If I'm talking to JohnR I'll ask him to either include Canada, or make it North America.
