Thanks Harry. I think you'll adapt much quicker than you think though. And once you get the hang of it, I think you'll appreciate all the new features and capabilities.
Steve
Samuel F. B. Morse would be very upset Harry to see you attributing his historic first telegraph message to A.G. Bell. I think Bell's first message was "Hey Watson. Get your butt over here!"
hello Mikeh, dont know what i was thinking of that day, and as a ham radio operator for over 40 years, i should probably feel worse. Actually the words were "Come here watson, i want you"..Harry
hi Harry! I just updated his msg with the "butt" part. Actually, I believe he spilled battery acid or something. I haven't done any radio stuff in years. When I was a kid, some elderly relative died and I got their big floor model short-wave radio receiver ( a Grundig I think.) I spent many an hour listening to far off places before the days of television. God, that sounds ancient! I wonder if they send e-mail QSL cards now?
Qsl cards are still sent, but not as much, god have i got a ton of those. 73,s and 88,s ..../.-/.-./.-./-.--
Harry, Alexander Graham Bell said "Watson, come here- I need you! (he had spilled some acid on himself)". Samuel Morse keyed in "what has God wrought?" with the first demonstration of the telegraph.
I think it was actually "what HATH God wrought?( My caps, not his.)
I think Bell said: Eureka! Watson come in here.
