Here's the last set from the Petrified Forest. These are from an area called 'Newspaper Rock'. It was called this because the native people who lived here around 800-1000 years ago used this rock to record hundreds of petroglyphs.
The first pic shows the rock as I could see it from my vantage point. I could barely see any petroglyphs with the naked eye. However using the 12x optical zoom on my Panasonic FZ20, these became crystal clear.

That's so cool! I remember visiting the petrified forest many, many moons ago with my Parents! It's really cool...... you just brought back some great memories, thank you so much for sharing!
