Papa HoJo rides again!

I am pleased to announce the birth of my grandaughter. (funny, I never have spelled that word before so I'm not sure if its one d or 2)

Ava Elizabeth Christo was born at 1:38 AM pacific time in San Diego. She was 4 weeks early and weighed in at 5 lbs even.Mother and Daughter are doing well, hubby Todd is a little shaky! Grammy and I will be going out tomorrow to be introduced in person, however Grammy was able to hear Ava crying which is a healthy sign.

I'll put a picture up as soon as available. Man, are we happy!

I am going to show a couple of photo's- preface these with the understanding that Ava was a month early! (I wonder how much more hair she would have had in mid June) One of the side effects of premie's is that the develop jaundice. The treatment for this is to put them under UV light.When they do that, they use a mask to block the rays. the mask is attached by velcro which is what you will notice on the temple.

Sorry I'm late but I got here as fast as I could. The joy you must be feeling I can't even imagine. I hope for the best for you and yours.

"Fairy Tale" by Roger Whittaker.

The first of the sunrays that fall on my wall of pine needles;
as I wake to the sound of the wood from my Dandelion bed,
And I gaze through the small cobweb curtains and down through the ashes
That are made from the wings of the moths and the bees that are dead.

The fairy tale children are dancing like jewels in the morning.
Caterpillar skin boots and green velvet suits catch the sun.
The Butterfly airplanes glide to a runway of roses
While the policemen cockroaches are standing by watching the fun.

I hear three Bluebells ring in a steeple of feather and roses.
I can hear them so clear as I glide by on Dragonfly wings.
And the Gamewarden fairy who lives in a Mushroom nearby
Plays a Lute made of Pinewood and Oak with six Cottonwood strings.

The last of the sunrays are leaving the floor of the greenwood
And the phantom black beetle arrives on the wings of the bat.
The Grasshopper coachmen are harnessing mice to my carriage
And the four coach lamp fireflys are put into place by the rat.

Farewell to the appleseed pavements and moss covered roadways.
The tall Mushroom castles and fairy tale children and all.
I may never again chance to fly upon Dragonfly wings.
Or wake where the morning sun shines on my pineneedle walls.
