Lenny,
Can you give us an indication of the types of questions you need answered? Perhaps they could be answered by someone familiar with Davis and their plans? Or are they actually questions for the corporation?
The question is very simple.
I want to open up a store and become a Davis vision provider.
So i need to know where they need a provider.
I cant get an answer for this question
I hear their reimbursement rate is poor.
Depends how you look at it!
Sometimes it is more than you can get from the best Union.
Lenny,
There's not a great deal of info there but here's a link to their website:

To my knowledge no one from Davis Vision has ever posted on this board. I know they read it however since they once made a complaint to my ex-employer about some of the posts on the Board. I suggest the best way to contact them is directly.LENNY said:

Thanks Steve!
I heard that Davis vision is Not a privately owned company.
Is it true?
Was up until sometime in 1999...sold to Highmark...
https://www.highmark.com/hmk/flashIndex.jsp?openTab
Very different company back then, for both customers, professionals and "associates"
How different?
The reimbursements thru Davis is roughly $48.00 to $50.00 on glasses. The eye exam is even less. If I remember correctly it was
between $28.00 and $32.00. These are rough figures but I believe Im pretty close. Reason is Im home and I don't have the Davis paper work in front of me.
See ya don't want to be ya!
:bbg: :D
But the good news about Davis.....
They've been extreme;y helpful on the phone, getting authorizations and placing orders is super easy on their web site, and they pay very fast!
Yes the payments are very fast. And sometimes they are quite substantial even for Medicaid PCPs. The frames that they are offering are also much better than most of the other 3rd party stores are offering. They also garantee them and do free replacements in most of the cases.
Does anybody knows if they require the OD to be TPA certified?

Should they not all be certified for TPA?
:hammer:
Most lowball vision plans don't care about therapeutics.
In my state, NEW ODs are required to be TPA certified to be licensed. Previously licensed ODs are not required to be TPA certified to remain licensed. But on the other hand, I believe VSP requires it to get on their panel. It's in the ODs best interest to be TPA certified. They can do so much more.
(But I don't think we want to get into that conversation again! ):)
