    Prince Charles to wed Camilla

    *sigh*

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/4252795.stm

Prince Charles is set to marry his long-term partner Camilla Parker-Bowles, Clarence House says.

No wedding date has been confirmed at this stage, but reports have suggested 6 April is one possible date.

Well as tiresome as I think these people are, I guess you gotta agree this is true love, 30 years is a long time to wait for someone!!!! I think Chuck should pull a King Edward and let his son ascend the throne when granny kicks. Why make his son go through the same wretched life he has had?

The 8th? or was it the 7th? The renounce the throne part, not the son part. The goofy guy who married Wallace Simpson.

Oh, OK. That was Edward VIII. His brother, Elizabeth's dad, became George VI upon his abdication.

On a related subject, do you Brits realize the first two King Charles weren't exactly "banner" kings. As I recall, one was seperated from his head by a revolution, and the other had syphillis and ended up running to Ireland or somewhere like that after another revolution. With that kind of history, whatever possessed her majesty to name her child Charles?!?

    Unhappy

Lots of conflab and too much debate going on over here about this whole subject. You have Diana faithfulls saying it should never be allowed, and the more liberal/forgiving(?) population saying let them be. But should he be King and more importantly (!) should SHE be the Duchess of Cornwall? Now THAT is the biggy....

I am leaving my tv and radio switched off for the next 6 months cos I'm fed up with it all already.

Do you think we'll get a public holiday for the wedding ...by the way, about that wedding... maybe it is a good idea after all.;)

    Big Smile wedding problems

 now that there seems to be a problem with getting married at winsor perhaps they should go to some romantic tropical location for their wedding.
Take the whole family with them and with a bit of luck they can all stay there never to return

It is by universal misunderstanding that all agree. For if, by ill luck, people understood each other, they would never agree.

Precicely, Nobody *I* know of in the UK gives a turd.
Must be all the southern softies who are into it:D
The royal family is almost as disfunctional as the Osbornes. Did you guys over the pond see the queen in the news for battering a pheasant with her walking stick while out hunting:hammer: and prince Philip? Is there a bigger bigot?
And poor Harry, thinking wearing a swastika (sp) wouldnt cause a media storm.
I feel sorry for William, seems he is the only sane one amongst them although I have to shudder when the papers link him with the likes of Britney or Beyonce, I am not sure either of those two being queen of England would sit well with me.
    What next? Schwartzenegger for PM.

Actually, if William was doing Brittany or Beyonce, there would actually be hope for the kid.

As for Harry, what did any one expect from the decendant of German inbreds anyway?
