The AG and the SOC have resigned, who is next and who do you opti-pundents think should be the team for the second half? My vote is for Condie Rice to take the VP post.

Still don't know what I was looking for. How does AG Johnny Cochran sound?;)

;) About as scary as John Ashcroft.
Yes, Under Ashcroft the country fell apart.:hammer:
I think a lot of people would agree with you. Sarcasm aside.Originally Posted by mrba

It looks like a good thing that I'm brushing off my spanish! It was kinda of frekey that I started this on friday and Chaney went to the hospital on Saturday. I just hope W is looking for a replacement for him.

Are you kidding? Under Ashcroft, it's against the law to fall apart.;)Originally Posted by mrba

Ashcroft was a equal opportunity offender, neither side of the aisle wild about him. His singing debut in Fahrenheit 911 beyond belief, so I will miss that crazier than an out house rat part of his persona. There's a third cabinet guy who resigned, black fellow, can't remember his name, maybe Labor?Originally Posted by Spexvet

Powell and 2 more gone this morning.
how many more will go? I just answered my own question as many as 15 are expected to resign, at least according to MSN.

Mrs. Powell nixed that idea shortly after her husband retired from the Army.
Everything has changed since that decision including a high profile job with no assasinations. I also wonder what Mrs. Powell's medication regime is (you may remember that she's battled depression and there was speculation that her objection to his potential Presidential run was fueled by possible emotional issues). He'd certainly be a wonder potential Republican nominee in four years. I believe that the Republicans have potentially much deeper field in four years than they have in a while, of course with our luck we'll end up with Frist.Originally Posted by Judy Canty

I don't know Arnold, nor how good he is/would be. All I know that there's no way I 'd want anything like the kind of ammendment it would take to get him in here. How does Presidient Osama Bin Smith.
I'll pass on foreign-borns all the way around.
I find it absolutely amazing that someone with absolutely no previous public service becomes Governor of the most populous state in the nation through what can only be described as a strange confluence of events, and after only a a few months people are talking about amending the Constitution so they can anoint him President. Are we really that awe-struck by celebrity in this country?
It may turn out that Armold does become a good Governor and leader and would be deserving of such consideration in the future, but this talk right now about someone who has almost no experience and track record is way too premature.
Absolutely amazing!

Well the same thing happened with the 3rd most populous state, :hammer: Texas.......Originally Posted by Steve Machol

Even if he had all the markings of the greatest leader ever, I'd say 'No way!".

Well as loathe as I am to say anything remotely kind about Bush, I don't think this amount of cabinet re-shuffling is particularly unusual.
At the urging of the President, Donald Rumsfeld confirmed his intention to stay on as Secretary of Defense (MSNBC).

.....has anyone researched any past presidents who have had half of their cabinet resign after a first term?Originally Posted by chm2023
I can't help but think the one's who resigned wanted to put some distance between themselves and this administration.........of course the president COULD have asked for all those letters....but if he did.....I wonder why?? Did he choose that badly the first time? Seems strange......
