    Input appreciated

Does anyone have any input on the new Aspire line? Clear Vision carries them and they are very light weight and supposed to be sturdy. They are a new material that are nylon & ? and have nosepads that you can't feel hardly. They go up to a + or - 8.00 if I recall. I would love some feedback if anyone has any. Thanks

My rep was just in with them the other day. Good quality, but VERY similar to silhouette. Looks like same material as silhouette's SPX. Temples also have the same disk hinge system as the Silhouette TNG. (Did Silhouette loose their patent?) I think there were some models that would take a high RX. Kind of a funky look to them. I opted to not bring them in due to buy in.

They do have kind of a funky look to them. It takes the right kind of look to pull them off. We did get them in about a week ago and they are selling at a fairly good rate. The first one I ordered came back yesterday and they are very light weight. I was amazed by the fact that when I put a frame on I could hardly feel nosepads. I am very sensative and I am my worst pt. I think all those Silhouette pts that want color will be ok with these. Hope they are good enough quality to survive, if not, they are out of here. We will see. Thanks for the input.

They look amazing. But Charmant did pretty much the same exact thing about five years ago and it FLOPPED. The rep came and voluntarily took them as a trade-in less than six months after they launched.

We brought this line in a couple of weeks ago, and while I'm still not sold on it personally, the patients have been LOVING it! I have an entire family that are each wearing one or three, with suns on the way. The demo lenses pop out like jumping beans but the finished products from the lab (to whom we send all new and different things to before bringing in) seem pretty sturdy. Time will tell, but at least we'll have sold our original order!

I remember those. They were called Plastic Slim and they were really awful. They now have some Esprit and Puma frames that are close but much better and have done really well for us.

Marchon/ Calvin Klein had something similar as well, again, minus nosepads. They look awful.

Update on the Aspire line. We have sold multiple Aspire frames without incident. I have noticed, while adjusting nose pads, that they seem a little loose in the frame. I've not had any break or fall apart on me but I am concerned about this. There seems to be a select few that can wear these "different" looking frames. I also think the styles are limited. We still have them and will see how they last.

Those Calvin Kleins have a dumb inverted bevel for the eyewire though, the Aspire use a standard V bevel.

I thought about the Aspire, but I think I'm going to bring in some similar Morel frames instead.

I'm pretty sure the Aspire line uses a grooved edge.

Trust me they don't, it was one of the reasons I thought of getting them.

    It's a regular bevel.
