    Kodak Total Blue

What specific spectrum (in nm) does Kodak Total Blue protect from?

Spoke to Norma just now at Signet Armorlite. She's e mailing a bunch of technical info and I'll see if it's more than marketing mumbo jumbo.

Or if I can make any sense out of it.

You can also call SA at 1-800-759-0075

I just finished speaking with a representative from Signet Armorlite. She said that the Total Kodak Blue blocks 80% of the wavelengths between 380-440 nm.

I believe that I have read somewhere that Prevencia blocks 20% of the wavelengths between 400-450 nm.

Would someone be able to verify this information?

Why not just tint any old lens yellow/orange/brown 1, slap an AR on top, and go?

Because that would affect color vision more.

So do every one of the "dangerous blue light blocking" lenses. It's all reptilian grease. *shrug*

Uillean, you're going to go blind, and we're all going to laugh in your face. But you won't know who's laughing with your blue-damaged retinas.

I KNOW! I can barely see anymore what with all this toxic, radioactive, cellulite inducing, tax liability raising, rush-hour traffic extending, blue light inundating my delicate little retinas! The left one litterally caught on fire yesterday, and it took several hours to finally tamp down all the hot spots. I can tell the right one isn't far behind - it could go at any moment. Super embarassing when helping a patient, and one's eyeball just bursts into flame like that!

Well I heard there is a some sort of a cure--though it is somewhat controversial. And the AOA has not given their blessing as of yet, but the kids love it! Blue Roll... it helps with eyes that have been burned out due to blue light and it looks cool at the same time!

And the best part of it is that it is approved treatment for Blue Light Eye Burn Out Syndrome (BLEBOS), and recommended by drk himself!

Interesting information regarding Prevencia ARC v. Kodak Total Blue lens:

In a clinical study comparing the two by a third party, Prevencia ARC was shown to block 8.3% of 426nm light while Kodak Total Blue lens blocked 73% of 426 nm light.

Who is to say that 426 is the best spectrum of light to block? That's the problem with these studies, there is no agreed upon standard.

Everyone KNOOOOOWS that 418 is the singular wavelength to block! Those 426 rubes are creating a far more dangerous lens - The public deserves to know!

    I WANT TO BELIEVE!
