I'm considering dumping it in the East River and going with, say, a non-flexible titianium offering.

We dumped flexon a few years ago. The rep was awefull and there were other options. We use Titanflex and Charmant flexible frames and rarely have an issue with either of them. The Charmant Titanium frames are also excellent. Charmant frame warranty is also 5 years which is nice.

I'll second the Charmant recommendation. I've been an ABO certified Optician for over 40 years and remember when they were first introduced in the USA. Great quality then and great now.
I seem to see a lot of Flexon frames that have been in use for 10-20 years and think it's a good product line.
That said, the first Flexon frame I broke the first Flexon frame I ever touched. The rep told me to give it a twist, and when I did, it broke in half. At that point, the rep told me I was only supposed to twist it 45 degrees. In a different incident, my wife and I saw a Flexon commercial on television. She asked me if the temples were really as flexible as what we saw on the commercial. I grabbed the Flexon frame in my bathroom drawer and, of course, it broke as I tried to copy what we had just watched. Grrr...
IMO Flexon hasn't been good for a loooong time. Flexon/Marchon/VSP= junk. Not only do they break regularly, their main selling point of being ultra-flexable makes them impossible to adjust correctly. With the exception of a select few that have actual though put into the design for fit and adjustability , I loathe felxi-bendy frames, along with spring hinges. Ditch them Drk.
Pretty sure if literally ANY Flexon frame, got together and made freakish love babies with ANY Airlock frame, that they would 100% of the time explode the very first time they were put on a face.

It's been awhile since I have sold Flexons, but... yeah. They always broke at the bridge. Always. I think people like to twist them up just because they can and the twisting breaks the solder point or the bond or whatever you want to call it. The paint always flecked off the twisty parts too. The paint didn't flex with the metal I guess. I also had a patient show me his frames were Flexons and was twisting them all up and they broke as he did so. We both laughed.

I don't think it's that. I think the metal fatigues because no matter how well it fits, the bridge will always flex slightly when taken on or off
All due respect. I disagree. I own multiple OVVOs and have never had problems with them.
Flexon is a huge sector of our business, and I see warranty redos more than I care for. Marchon is great about replacing them, but I do believe that they need to redesign their bridges. Krystal’s point is valid. The fatigue may be due to the wearer “showing off”.
However, I show off my OVVOs. 3 years later, no issues.
I bend light. That is what I do.
One thing I hate about flexon is when people say "I bought these unbreakable glasses and they broke." I tell everyone...NOTHING is unbreakable. Flexon is memory metal for "In Case!" It can still be broken and the more you show your friends what they can do, the more they will get metal fatigue and break. Since I tell people that, I hardly see them break. Go figure.
