    Consultants

I had a rep in talking about a consultant that he had dealt with....concidence....my practice is considering bringing in a consultant(does it every 4 or 5 years) and am wondering if there's any consultants that anyone can recommend . Based on good past experiences and also bad experiences. I'd like to be able to recommend someone to our administrator, but can't do that because I haven't personally dealt with any consultants. Thanks in advance. If you prefer, you can private message me .

What kind of consultant do you need? Business, technical, personnel? Talk to Mary Schmidt. Her firm is called Eye Systems.

Consultants have a tendency to "change" your practice according to their universal "statistical" findings. That means if your practice isn't "typical" then you may find big problems.

I agree 100%. I do NOT recommend a consultant unless you are having major problems. Even then...not so sure. I know a lot of people who brought in consultants and their practice is now different and worse off.

I worked part time for a practice that had spent a god awful amount of money for a consultant. The report was a 3" notebook full of generalities with an obvious "find and replace" where the practice name had been inserted.
    1. Great your patients when they arrive.
    2. Book next year's appt. before they leave this year.
    3. Etc.

My sister is a consultant in another industry. I tell her that she goes in, tells them they have to give up wearing a watch and then sends them a bill every time they ask her what time it is.
