Is it possible to prescribe Zeiss Office lenses to be Progressive Lenses by adding power to distance and addition? E.g, adding -0.50 to distance and +0.50 to addition if Type: Near (2m) reduction is around -0.50 for distance.

Well, you can......
1 of the Optometrists in the practice i am at does it alot, mainly uses room design. You need to modify both the distance and near add for it to work.
Personally i HATE it when he sends them out with compensated Rx's. They are not designed for it. Have fun when they come back in 6 months later, and wish to get Polarised Sunglasses in that exact lens design, and your stuck trying to explain why its impossible to be done.
That's nuts. Just use progressives designed to be progressives.
I'm Andrew Hamm and I approve this message.
The Nikon digitilife is basically this, so go with that.
