Anyone going?
Anyone going?

I'll be there. We typically go every other year.
Its been years, I deserve to go to one again
............not anymore
These shows in the 60s to the 90s used to cost me an average of $ 10,000 a piece, and we used to go home with a few thousand Dollars on orders.
When websites became fashion in the early 2000 s, we got a better attendance than we ever got at any show we went to, for the same time span.
Yeah, booths are really, really expensive nowadays. More and more companies are spending the money on a suite instead and inviting consumers up there to learn & order product.
I do enjoy attending the expo, however if this wasn't more of an excuse to be in Las Vegas and get wined & dined by optical companies I don't know what is haha.
Optical is a small world however, its fun to see a lot of people from the industry that I haven't seen in a while.

Yes, first time, the registration process is maddening, way too convoluted. They said 15 hours in a 249$ package and then charged me 319$ for 13 hours. Gotta call and hopefully get it straightened out. Any course recommendations? Just want to learn stuff to do better in the day to day. Looking over and over at the course handouts; one guy, Ed De Gennaro looks like he knows his stuff pretty well but it's difficult to tell what any of the courses are really like.
To be really honest with you, 15 years in optical and going to the vision expo, I have never taken any of the education classes ever. I'm not saying one bit that they are not informative nor beneficial, but I just never look at any of the course/lecture info. This will definitely be a learning experience for you.
I'm in SD too.....btw.
