Hello All,

Please bare with me as my knowledge in this area is somewhat limited and I am hoping somebody can offer some insight to this issue.

I work at an Optical Store as an optician and we have a lab using a Gerber Triump Tracer with innovations software etc.
The tracer table needed to be replaced and to avoid paying thousands of dollars for a re-furb I suggested using a WECO Tracer which we had lying around. I was told I require a Current Loop card with this WECO tracer in order for it to communicate with the software and the rest of the machines. My Question is

1) Is a Current Loop card required if it has a RS-232 interface. Why is it required?

2) Is there a cheaper place to buy these tracer tables for the gerber triumph tracer?

Thanks in advance to all,

Regards!
