    hi everyone,

with regards to progressive lenses I understand the pt pays their 110.00 dollar copay for premium progressive lenses. Does it make a diffrence as far as reimbursment what lens I use; or do I just have a higher write off for a more expensive lens? Reason I'm asking is I had a patient I wanted to fit in an autograph 2. Generally, I will use a physio, definity,or a piccolo at times. This is the first time I tried to get a auto 2 and am not even sure I am getting an auto 2 or the original autograph as I was told 2 diffrent things by 2 diffrent people. This job is taken 3weeks and is still not here. I was told by provider services the job was outsorced and is in the finishing lab, which is where it was a week ago!!! In the future anyone have sugestion for a progressive I can get in a more timely fashion from Spectera.
    thanx

My personal suggestion would be to use an older progressive (i.e. gp wide, genesis, piccolo, etc). I know you want to do what's best for your patient but it seemed like Spectera lab could only get the basic lenses in less than an eternity. I know we tried to do a lifestyle once and it took 6 weeks. As for the reimbursement I don't know if it is better or worse. It's been awhile since we took spectera. I would assume its the same either way.

The only progressive Spectera can do in house is the Physio all the others you said must be outsourced also you are from Wisconsin you should have your choice of lab to outsource to from what I am told wisconsin and California have there choice find one that is more speedy than 3 weeks

They only do the Physio? That's it? That would be a pretty big write-off. I have told patients in the past that their insurance plan limits them to certain lenses and that is the way it is, take it or leave it. Can the lab send you a list of lenses that can be had in a more timely manner and that might be the lenses you sell?

Seems Spectera has caught on that we are no longer a franchise and are asking us to re-credential. Took them three years to figure this out for some reason. So now we will have to use their lab I assume? Not sure we will stay with them after all.

And this is why we give the patients a discount and help them get self re-imbursment. (although for some reason spectera is always telling the patient that they never received the form we send for the patient)

Love is a duet, each voice complementing each other and making them sound better than they would alone, each voice at times stepping back and letting the other shine. We've got a pretty good duet going Tina.

On April 28th, I'll be marrying my best friend. I can't wait!

thanx everyone for the great advise I think this will be the first and last time I try to get an auto 2 for a spectera. I was not aware that spectera outsources all other lenses besides varilux so for future I will stick with that for these patients
