    prescription Bolle

I am curious as to how long it takes to get pescription Bolle sunglasses made in the USA , I had a client today who is going on holiday in 3 weeks, could I get them on time ?
I telephoned Bushnell UK, guess what , they are extremely busy and are quoting
    4 weeks delivery.
So now I have to phone him back, and hope he will still want to order them.

Don't know about delivery time but if the lenses don't hold up any better than the plano's when they get wet, cancel the sale and find a good sunglass to sell to the patient.

What a waste of a pint of beer.

Try Rudy Project. Great selection of sports sunglasses and just about all are RXable either in the frame or with adaptors

It means that if you drown in beer, the authorities won't be able to identify your body by what glasses you were wearing.

Give Rudy Project a try...They're great!

I have never had troubles with Bolle's, but I think I will pour a pool of beer and go swimming in it with my Bolle's (:))

I have heard about Rudy Project, but it is hard to get a peak at them here.

Can anyone sum up the appeal of the Rudy Project? I've seen their ads, and it looks like they are rough, at best. What am I missing?

Check out their website at www.rudyprojectusa.com or call and ask for a catalogue. I've done very well with the Kerosens and the Kerosens Golf package. I'm not crazy about the rimless stuff, however. The styles are good, lots of lens choices in non-Rx and to Rx you can use the lab of your choice.

    Bolle Turn-Around Time/U.S.

Ikon44, the turn around time for Bolle in the U.S. is about two weeks. They use Sola labs to create their prescripsion lenses. I've not had any more complaints regarding Bolle than any other brand, however Oakley offers a good mix of cutting edge technology and style. It all depends on which activities the patient/customer is intending to use the lenses. Is there a specific, overriding visual need, or do the just want to look good and protect their eyes from the sun? I've never used the Rudy Project, but customers who have are hooked.

I think you steered him in the right direction. The frame has a nice wrap to it and with a polarized lens, he should be quite happy.

One warning with polarized lenses and cyclists, Many of these athletes use bike computers and heart rate monitors. Polarized lenses can make it difficult to see the read outs. Some of the newer monitors have changed the polarization axis so they can be seen with the polarized lenses. If your patient uses any of these instruments, I'd have them bring them in and check to see if the polarization creates a problem. If they can't read the instruments, you might have an unhappy patient. Hope that helps.

Also it is odd that they don't have a european distributor, I believe they are the official eyewear of Tour de France.

    Drk,

Given the biking population in Cloumbus, Rudy Project would blow off your shelves. People will come in and ask for the specific model and lens they want, so study up on them before you put the display up! The quality blows Smith and Oakley away. (That's the first time I've ever used "Oakley" and "quality" in the same sentence!!)

Have since found out they do have a Uk distributor, the US site does not have a link to any European sites so i assumed they do not do them DOH !

I gave them a call they supply mostly to bike shops, not many opticians,so it will be good to have something fairly exclusive
