Greetings All, long time reader first time poster. I was wondering if anyone has advice and first hand experience on a practice management software product. I dont need scheduling, just order entry, demographic data, cash register and insurance info. It seems like I've been looking forever and most systems are just too complicated and time consuming at point of sale. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I believe that Marchon will send you a trial version of Office Mate. With Vision Expo around the corner it is a good time to see all of the software. Play with the interfaces and ask if it's shipping and who's using it. Call their customers and ask questions, as in any new areas with software...make sure that it's not VaporWare...cutting edge is one thing...bleeding edge though...forget it!

If you give me your fax number, I'll make sure that you get our software client list.

The list includes many of the different software programs out there along with a list of people who are currently using them so you can give them a quick call in order to find out first hand the good, the bad and the ugly about each program.

Just another one of our many services!

    Optical Software...you decide

    Hello,

I worked for one of the biggest optical software companies out there. The problem with everyone is that is cannot be customized to your specific needs, no matter how good it claims to be. i went to work with a development house where we can custom write a program to meet/exceed your needs. Additionally, we provide SOURCE CODE, so you always have control of your program, without any costly additional monthly support fees.

We have been using Compulink "Eyecare" program since 1997 and it seems to do a good job for us. It is user friendly.

    Stick out tongue Optical Software

My advice would be dont limit yourself to what you need today. Give serious thought about what you may need in the future. Upgrading and finding out 2 years down the road that you may need scheduling and more, may be a problem.

Aslo check out First Insight- practice software I believe is MaximEyes and they have ParadEyes for online ordering. I have heard good stuff about them. Waiting for the show is an excellent idea-if you are able to go you can see it all in person
