Twas the night before Christmas......... Please Contribute

I believe someone did this last year but I will start it for this year. Everyone feel free to put in a part or two.

TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS when all through the store,

People were looking for eyewear no more.

My contacts are broke and my glasses are bent,
I hope Santa comes soon so I'll open the vent.

The mirrors are foggy, the frame bars so cold,

The spec chains are shiny, the cases are sold.
Anything worth doing is worth doing well.

And the OD in his office and I in my store

    with apologies to Clement Moore!

    When out in the street
    There came blowing a snowstorm
    I rose to my feet
In the door stood a huge form!

The smile on his lips and the rose in his cheeks
Were a lovely exception to the usual geeks!

He was all dressed in red wearing reading specs
Yelling "I broke a lens...where are your techs??"

Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the store,
things were growing quite quiet, as I locked up the door.
The shoppers were leaving the mall on their way
out to their cars, with their purchases made.

My tech in his labcoat, and I in my jacket,
had said our "farewells" when I heard a loud racket.
It came from the Sears, from the foodcourt Dairy Queen-
some guy and two kids, making quite a scene...

But ere they grew closer, I knew in a jiff,
it was Santa- my dear, walking clumsy and stiff!
And before I could speak, his elves did exclaim-
"Santa fell down a chimney, and we've come to complain!"

They held out some glasses, that were battered and bent,
"You said these were scratch-proof! Now make them again!"
I began to protest, but then thought of it better,
invited them in, and turned on my edger.

Santa sat in my dispensary, looking quite in a panic,
as I checked his Rx, and pulled some Panamic!
My Coburn warmed up, my Santinelli flew,
as I put in the left PD field, "32."

In about just an hour, his glasses were done,
and the smile on his face had the warmth of the sun.
I gave him some cleaner and a cloth for his pack,
and told him I'd order Crizal for when he came back.

With a wink and a nod, he offered his thanks,
broke out some Coors Light, which we happily drank!
But he soon had to go, said he needed to fly-
but a checkpoint nabbed him later- he was DUI!

So the moral, my friends, should be painfully clear...
love your lenses, take care, and hold them quite dear.

and if next year should find Santa knocking on your door-
I'll offer just one additional tip more.

Those Elves are real merry, a happy little bunch,
but friends don't let friends fly reindeer sleighs drunk!
Though Santa likes to party, with his elves and the deers
(hey, Rudolph's nose is red for a reason),
    the kiddies need their toys
(so lay off those beers next season)!

    MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
