Big Smile Cussing- The new political firestorm

The reason this came to light is the remarks that John kerry made
when asked to assess President Bush's Iraq policy. Then he was asked about the success of rival candidate Howard Dean, then he John Kerry said: "Did I expect Howard Dean to go off to the left and say, "Im against everything?" Sure. Did I expect George Bush to F--- it up as badly as he did? I don't think any body did."

Now Im not a prude but I also have enough common sense and
knowledge to know that even if you want to use the F word you
can usually get your point across pointedly by using the every day
language, with out having to revert to crude innuendo's. I was
once told by a well respected man that any body can use crude
language but only an intelligent man with a firm grasp on his self
worth can argue intelligently with out reverting to crude slang or body parts.

In an article written in the Democrat and Chronicle by
Ana Veciana-suarez she states: "The public use of profanity displays an undeveloped sense of imagination. A lack of vocabulary. An inability and insecurity of expression. Kerry should
keep it private or have his mouth washed out with soap."

    Amen to that!
Now who has the soap? I would use dial.

While watching the Billboard music awards last week I almost fell off of my couch when I heard Nicole Richie use the F word and the S word! The censors couldn't get to her nasty mouth in time!

I was so shocked! Television has gotten really bad, I rarely watch TV now days preferring to read books.

Maybe I am a bit prudish but I could not believe what I was hearing right in my living room! Disgusting is all I can say.....*shakes head*

    Angry

I agree with Jana. I'm no prude. I've been known to let a few fly now and then and although that's not great, I usually at least know if I am in the appropriate forum for it. (Temper Tantrums not withstanding)
TV is a whole other thing. I can not believe what is allowed on TV these days!

    I believe this 100%

"The public use of profanity displays an undeveloped sense of imagination. A lack of vocabulary. An inability and insecurity of expression. Kerry should
keep it private or have his mouth washed out with soap."

And not just where Kerry is concerned either, but rather consider many of the sources for this type of public profanity. While I won't say that I do not cuss on occasion it's not my typical vernacular and I don't run around using it in front of my daughter or other kids let alone out in public for all to hear.

When someone utilizes profanity for it's shock value regularly it's usually because they can't finish a complete thought without pause and that's sad. It's akin to saying "You know?" or "Like..." or "See what I'm sayin'?" frequently when speaking. It's done because that person has literally run out of something to say while in midstream. How telling of the future generation.

I've seen one of the shows with Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie and while I did find it funny these two young women need to be thankful that they come from families with money and have the looks they do. I'm afraid they couldn't make it in the working world or dating world without one or the other :)

    Take care and Merry Christmas.

No, please no need to applaud me for getting the correct answer. It's just my God given, razor sharp intellect that makes it possible to be right all the time :D

I would have said Roseann Barr!

Especially after she sang the national anthem. Or was that Ossie?
