OptiBoard Virtual Gathering???

We are in the middle of a number of winter holidays and soon to welcome in the New Year. Many OptiBoarders seem to enjoy starting posts to send good cheer, and wish others luck. I was wondering if anyone wants to get together here on OptiBoard at a set day and time span for a virtual gathering?

We moderators seem to be pretty bad party co-ordinators so, if you folks are interested, post your suggestions for meeting time below and we'll show up when you want us to. If OptiBoarders decide to meet, don't forget to bring a glass of anything, soda, cider or cheer and raise a toast!

PS: Even those of you who come to OptiBoard to read the posts but don't reply are welcome to join in. You don't have to post anything, OptiBoards number of people online will count your presence without your having to give up your anonymity.

I love this idea!
Do you think we should have it span a few hours...like a company Christmas party? I usually log on at the office. So for me it would be great if the virtual party lasted a few hours so that if I was helping a patient, I could come back and join the party later. How about a few hours one day the week of Christmas? Hmmmm....we'll have to think of the time differences too. And another thought...is there any way of knowing through our past....when the most activity happens on the site. Maybe more of our members actually log on at night. Looks like we'll need to do some research to best plan this...and I may smell a poll coming on to.
I'll wait to read more responses to see what others think...what suggestions others make.

How about Thursday, December 18? This way if people are traveling the week of Christmas we're able to have a virtual drink with them before they hit the road...hopefully they won't be driving right after the party...ha.

Hey, Laurie's bringing the wine, I'll bring some holiday fudge and other sweets from the baking I'll be doing in the next week or so.

What do you guys think of the 18th?

Why not have it the same time over a two or 3 day period. That way everyone will have a chance to attend.........or is this just going to be a hen party??:D :D :D :D

Sounds like a hen party to me. Harry, perhaps you have an inner need to get in touch with your feminine side. This will be a good place to start. Just remember that the girls have a lot of cooking and cleaning to do and will find it difficult to hold a virtual anything till after the holidays. They also have to put out the buffet, and fetch the frosties for college and NFL football games over the weekend.

So I will second the suggestion of a ....um....well of a second day!
Whew!!!! 2 Days of optiboard holiday gathering....sounds like fun.
Which is better? The 17th or the 19th for the second day (as long as we're all in agreement that a second day is a good idea). The good news is, there is no clean up...right girls?

Two days sounds good to me. It doesn't matter which days; I'll be here.

Be carefull asking for that cold one Harry. I think the bag may have bounced around a little on the trip home from the packy.

I don't think it will be a problem. We will have to make sure that we meet during a time block that won't be the middle of the night for our international members who are across the ocean.

Right now it is 8:00AM (New York) and 1:00PM (London).

The solution may be seperate morning and evening parties.

I polled to attend the Thursday 10 to 1 eastern. Wow, I'll be on PST, awful early for my wine bringing I promised, guess I'll make cocoa! I am going to try to attend as many times as I can though!

It was, although a bunch of people showed up tonight. I didn't want to keep folks from across the way up past their bedtimes.
