We charge $65. Many charge $70-75 but there are some OD's in our area that charge as much as $100 for a dilation and refraction. Many MD exams around here are $100-150.

CL exam and evaluations for a new patients wearing disposable spheres run between $90-189 for OD's and as much as $300 for MDs in the area. Toric, RGP and bifocal fits vary greatly. We charge $89 for a new patient/ new contact lens wearer and $74 for a previous contact wearer; toric, RGP and bifocal fits are an additional $20.

Our market is saturated with low price advertisers, as the fee's reflect.

Comprehensive exam includes DFE = $52.00
    Contact lens fit W/exam = $75.00

We are an Opthalmology practice so the complete exam is pretty pricey. You get an Optometrist and an Opthalmologist for the low low price of....

    New Patient - 200$
    Estab. Patient - 160$

This is not including a ctl fitting which is usually an extra 80-120.

I asked this question because I had a lady call and ask how much we charge for an exam. I told her that we charged $55.00. She then replied, "What are you leaving out, you are way to cheap!". So I told her, "nothing, we do a very thorough exam, and have an excellent doctor".

Here at Wal*Mart, an eyeglass exam is $38 and a contact exam is $69, that includes a $10 contact fitting fee.
I believe we are the cheapest around our town.

Ontario Health Insurance Plan still covers an eye exam every two years if you are between 19 and 65 years old, and once a year if you are under 19 or older than 65. The doctor gets $40 from OHIP per exam, and that is what we charge if it isn't covered (which people are shocked by how expensive it is). Other stores charge anywhere from $60 to $100. Shows you that people don't know a good thing when they see it.
