Still blowing up 1.67 on my ancient 7E...advice?

Wondering if I need to slow down the lens rotation speed...or conversely ramp up the blade speed perhaps?

We did get a brand new spindle so our polishes are finally looking passable. And the blade (carbide for right now) is basically brand new - fewer than 40 cuts on it so far. I checked seating, it's in there straight and the bolts are all tight. This has to be a setting somewhere I figure. Something is just biting into this delicate material with too much gusto, and I need to sort how to back it off for clean, unchipped, edging.

Any guesses?
