Never before have I had the displeasure of running such a picky/finicky/prissy edger. And I'm at my wits end. Doesn't help that the owners of the place buy everything used, usually 2nd, 3rd, or 4th hand, and don't want to invest in proper training, operation, or maintenance. But I digress...
My 1.67 lenses are ALL coming out chipped, some with edge chatter, none with a consistent polish on the edge (when asked for), and one just shattered entirely. I've tried everything I can think of, and that I've been told about this edger before my previous co-worker left the lab here. I've changed blade numerous times. I've re-seated the blade, making sure the channel was cleaned out with near surgical precision. I've tried running a rough cut first, then slowly bringing it down. These are failing on me at a nearly 100% rate. It's unsustainable.
Any 7E experts here know what the hell is possibly going on with this dinosaur of a machine?? TIA!
