    Recommendations for practice management software

Our office currently uses an older version of Optimeyes to keep track of our patients, their orders and account balances, recall, etc.; however, we're having a few gliches and it is difficult to work with in some areas, so we are considering replacing it with some other software later in the year. I was hoping that some of the people here would offer comments regarding what software they use and what they like or don't like about it.

I've heard that OfficeMate and Sure Practice(?) by Eyefinity allow VSP billing to be done dirctly through that software, but I don't know anyone who has actually done it. In the Medical Arts Press catalogs, I've seen things like Medisoft and MAP's own software that appear to be reasonable priced. Any information or opinions would be much appreciated!

    Thanks!

VSP is no longer selling SurePractice, but soon you will be able to submit VSP claims with a lot of the major management programs. We purchased Officemate a few months ago and I can only say that I like it but don't love it. Inventory is very cumbersome...more so than our old system and the scheduler is a bit dated. Patient checkout seems to take a bit longer as well. We are just beginning to file claims electronically and it seems to be ok.

I would check out ODProfessional. It is impressive but cost a bit more than Officemate. Also, Luxottica has a new version of EasyFrame out that you may want to look at.
Feel free to email if you have any questions.

We use Compulink. Very simple to use for all aspects of a busy practice.
