A question about edging progressives in a LE-800

I find that most of the time I try to edge progressives on our LE-800 that the progressive marking indicators don't exactly match up (usually ever) with where the LE-800 shows they should be. Generally I've just centered the center dot in the middle, and if the other dots stick out a bit on each side, I generally ***assume*** that it's correct to center the very middle dot and just align the others even if off centered. My question is just to make sure that I am doing that correctly, and that perhaps for some weird optical reason I'm actually supposed to center the left marking, or maybe the right. I know this might be a nooby question, but I just didn't want to assume anything about what I'm doing in optical as I've found that winds up biting you. I'll attach a beautifully illustrated link kind of expressing what I'm seeing. Thank you please be kind.

1st, get a cutout chart for the particular PAL you’re blocking. Some have their reference 4 above the engravings, some 2 and some the same height as the engravings (You need to know which you’re dealing with).

Mark the engravings, then flip the lens over, convex side down on the chart, mark the fitting reference at the appropriate place. This is your reference point for PD and height.

I assume there is a "WD" setting on the blocking screen. This is from the LE-700 manual

It's on the right middle of the screen here. Change this from 32 to 34(or some where between 34 and 35) and I bet the will line up.
