    edging high prism jobs

I'm curious as to what people are doing to combat slippage on their high prism jobs -- especially the base in and base out ones. I find the lenses slip out of position on the chucks, and no blocking pad, rikki pad type thing, cribbing the lens way down, etc. prevents the slippage.

Any thoughts besides send it to the wholesale lab?

I remember having a nightmare job, crazy prism, crazy blank size. I used a band saw, just a typical wood working one. I traced the cutout with a staedtler pen, then cut out the excess on the bandsaw. It worked. ( MEI’s and such do this already, but if you’re using standard edging equipment you got to be creative at times).

I think I got the idea of using the bandsaw from you years ago. I've cut thousands and thousands of lenses with my bandsaw and know how to get the lens cut very close to the finshed size. I still got a bunch of slippage.
