    Confused RayBan Concaved Sunglasses

Dumbest thing I've seen in 28 years of optics? Or am I just getting old? Our rep just came in to inform us about the new RayBan Concaved Sunglasses. I have never had a problem with my lashes hitting my lenses. Every pair I tried on my lashes hit the lenses. Who was the moron that thought up this incredibly stupid idea? Or is there a benefit to this that I am missing?

Introducing our first-ever inverted lens. Four timeless Ray-Ban styles are re-envisioned with a twist that nobody expected – shifting from the conventional lens shape for sharp visuals with a disruptive aesthetic. Reverse lenses follow the natural curve of the cheekbone for a universally-flattering fit.

I thought I knew what stupid was, and then I saw these sunglasses.

Yeah we saw them too, meh. I guess if I was in a trendy urban scene where I had a lot of young clients who bought a lot of plano sun I might consider it. But they did absolutely nothing for me. Agree that this is a micro-niche idea, don't get why Lux is hyping it up.

Yep, the past few visits from our rep sure seemed that way....lot of hideously chunky plastic styles including the "mega wayfarer" with 1 inch thick temples. Seems like every quarter they just add a half inch to the wayfarer temples.

A rep told me that they're trying to make that popular in order to put electronics in there. They have a one-off monstrosity already. Has 5G or bluetooth or virtual reality or something.

If the rx is simple enough, can't we just stick the lens in backwards? There was a mykita frame with reverse lense a while back and I wanted to try this.

I've never seen this. looks kinda cool actually. I'm sure it's easy to adjust and totally not made out of that injection-molded material that is impossible to work with.

I have then in the store.
The mirrored ones are quite fun, especially if a mirrored pair views their own reflection in another mirrored repair.

I am reading the literature on Leonardo about the Rayban Reverse right now. They are claiming the concave lens will achieve sharper optics... Is that true? It seems like some of these will also be RX-able? I am curious how they would achieve the concave profile with a plus lens without the patient experiencing visual issues or distortion. I love weird frame designs, but I am just not sure about how well these would work in the real world.
