Been cutting Vela Poly Super-Hydro lenses for a few years now. They are incredibly slippery! I've cut them on multiple Kappa edgers and a new Coburn setup. No matter what we do, I have found no blocking pad and/or anti-slip disc combination that will keep these from turning. Has anyone used this lens? Are they turning on your machine?
I've had my Coburn slow down my edger to its slowest rotational speed and pressure to the wheel with highest possible clamping force and it still slips on many lenses above a -300 sph with cyl. This is the ONLY lens that turns. No other lenses turn on my machine, even without an anti-slip disc.
Currently I'm using a 3M Leap III pad with a Ceko anti-slip disc. I have not been able to find any other anti-slip discs that hold better. Most all discs just come loose during edging.
Vision Ease has been no help. I've called multiple times, and as usual, they have no answers--they also don't sell any anti-slip discs. Of course, most other super-hydro come with anti-slip discs, but these do not.
I've bought or received samples of every anti-slip disc and super-hydro pad I can find, and nothing seems to keep the lens from turning.
Thank you.
