Where can I find a PAL Demo kit?

I'm looking for the kind that come with a headband of sorts, that has multiple lenses in it you can put over a patient's glasses and adjust to give them a feel of what wearing a PAL would be like before they make the decision to purchase? Hopefully I'm explaining this right. Thank you in advance!

They used to have this stuff, but consider how complicated what your asking for! If there is any issue with the old glasses, the PAL demo won't be very accurate. Plus the whole concept of "try before you buy" is really a bad precendent. There are guarantees for remakes after the fact, but don't bother with a demo.

I can't imagine that this would be particularly helpful.

It seems to be good way to create a bad impression of the lenses.

Essilor had a demo kit years ago. It had a a "frame" that you could slide various FT powers and comparable PAL power. Plano distance and 3 add powers each. There was a nose piece and a adapter that would allow the frame to sit on the patients frame. The lenses would slide in and out to approximate PD.

I used it almost daily and found it very helpful. Most patients understood that this was not an exact demonstration but a taste of what to expect. It took a good bit of education and setting expectations to have the success that I had with it. Patient's really appreciated the "test drive" of sorts that they provided. I sold way more progressive lenses because of it. Once patients saw the flat top line and tried it=PAL sale!

The weak part of the kit was the frame. They got brittle as they aged. Many frames broke as knuckleheads whipped them off one handed like the cheap Happy Harry Readers they currently had. Discouraging! I tried for years to get replacement frames without luck. I had 5-6 kits in storage and robbed parts as needed until I lost interest and sold/gave them away.

I should have kept them. I imagine with 3D printing, all parts would be replaceable!

    I'd think that's a bargain! Rare, collector's item.
