Anyone Still Running An Original Coburn Generator?

Anyone out there still have a working Coburn with the diamond cup?
I need some (good) video of the "cup in action" grinding a lens.
Gladly pay you for your time and even send you a few blanks to sacrifice.
Please email me through the OpticianWorks website.
    Thanks
    John

108’s ? Are they Rocket 108’s? That’s friggin’ ancient….and one of the best manual generators ever, a real tank ( and weighed the same..) Back in 74 or 75 our generator man was changing the diamond wheel for the smaller diameter wheel, ( you had to change the wheels out if you ran a high curve, like high minus.)
Anyway, he had his hand on the wheel and accidentally hit the on switch…lost a finger… Back at work 2 days later..more cautious.

Flaming the cooling oil on PGX blanks ( flames would literally go up in a ball, like in the Wizard of Oz’s hall from cutting that material to quickly/aggressively) Them were the days!

    LMAO
Yeah nothing like burying the wheel into glass and watching the spark fly!
Ah those were the days - manual calculations, hot coolant spray, lead, what great times!

Oh my. 108. 113. 2113. Those were the days. Multiple diameter wheels. Saddlebacks. 90 off. When grinding was an art.
And the pella oil “explosions”. Did I just date myself,

Sorry to say, I only have memories, not videos. Dare I say that smart phones didn’t exist when I ran a lab with any of these?
I bend light. That is what I do.

Still cranking. Bought the first rocket in 1955, not by me, but my father Have re ground the "ways" several times but still puts out close to 100 per hour. Can't keep a good machine down.
