    Optometric Practice Manager

    Practice Manager - Nilsen Eye Care – Richmond, VA
    Nilsen Eye Care (NEC) is a growing, two-location private practice, established for over 20 years and continuing to grow with seven doctors and about 50 full-time employees. Our practice focuses on medical preventive eye care and caring for the overall health of our patients. The Practice Manager is a key management role supporting the practice with technical expertise, enthusiastic leadership, and a desire for continuous improvement.
    On a day-to-day basis, the Practice Manager is responsible for office operations with a strong emphasis on maintaining a culture of patient service, teamwork, and positivity. The ideal candidate will have an active role in setting, monitoring, and achieving office goals, ensuring the office is performing consistently and creating excellent patient experiences.
    We’re looking for that special individual who understands and promotes an environment where every patient and employee will truly “See the Difference Caring Makes”.
    Essential Functions include but are not limited to:

    • Seek and identify ways to grow the practice while maintaining a high level of patient care.
    • Provide Human Resources support for policy management, recruiting, benefits and employee relations including scheduling and payroll management.
    • Provide management oversight for departments including front desk, technicians, and optical to ensure proper work habits, training, and consistency in patient care.
    • Create, analyse, and provide updates on statistics related to the operation of the office, ensuring the office is working at capacity and identifying missed opportunities.
    • Understand and manage HIPPA and OSHA compliance and processes to ensure they are followed throughout the office.
    • Manage office physical space including maintenance concerns.
    • Ensure optimization of optical products and inventory to meet the needs of the office and patients.
    • Resolves staff and patient administrative problems and keep lines of communication open with staff to ensure high employee morale and a professional, healthful practice atmosphere.


    Qualifications

    • Excellent communication skills
    • Proven ability to multi-task with exceptional follow through
    • Critical thinking to solve problems and continually improve daily processes
    • Computer literacy, excellent written/oral communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
    • Human resources competency
    • 4+ Years of supervisory/management experience in eye care or a related medical environment
