    Frame suggestions

I am trying to find a frame for someone i have not seen but her husband came in and says his wife has some sort of severe touch sensitivity and growth on or near her right temple. She is also approx -9.00 sph OU as well. He is basically stating that the frames cant touch her temple. Pt has medical issues and cannpot come to office and husband could not provide a picture of her face either. Not much to go on I know.

So far I was thinking of a Pince-Nez type frame like this: https://mc-specs.com/

Perhaps this might work if the string could be run under her ears (if they would stay in place that is): https://ombraz.com/

Looking for other options. Any suggestions?

Frames shouldn't touch anyone's temple. What am I missing here?

Without any idea of what the actual problem is I don't know how anyone can be expected to be very helpful.

Orig post stated that "the frames cant touch HER temple."
And I assume this is on account of her medical situation at the moment.

It did not say, "shouldn't touch anyone's temple." But yes, I agree with you, some temples touch some do not, hey, its life.

But I could not imagine trying to do a -9.00 with a Pince-Nez type frame. How would it stay in place?

Writing it out in capital letters doesn't mean it makes and more SENSE...

Frames are not meant to touch temples, for HER , me, you anyone. So with the limited information provided there are probably thousands of frames that fit that request.

My understanding is that she has a protruding growth on the right side of her temple that eliminates most conventional temples from consideration

You know, those Titan Minimal Art frames are pretty non-obtrusive.

Remember Suspension Eyewear? A rimless front with nylon monofilament lines reaching back to hooks (a bit like cable-conversion tips) around the ears.
I think I still have one somewhere, and I'll bet some others here do also. The other approach, ugly as it would be, would be temples 10-15mm too long opened way out from the hinge and bent back to make first contact behind the ear.

I’ve had to do something like this before but I did have the client in front of me
at the very least you need a picture of the client and if possible her husband could possibly mark the spots on the temple where it needs to be away from the head
I took a true zyl frame heated the heck out of it and looped it around the sensitive area, bringing it back into position just in front of the ear.
Do you recall the original drop temple DVF frames that were popular a few years ago?Kind of like that just Customized

I've done exactly that and tried to add as large of a bow to the temple as possible. Husband is unwilling to provide picture for whatever reason.

Just tell him you are unable to provide this service without a picture. I have several thoughts that I won't share as to why he wouldn't want to share a picture.....
