What progressive lens has a reading zone that spans the entire lens?

Hi guys, I know there isn't one, but a buddy informed me that when her aunt received new spectacles, the bottom reading portion covered the entire frame. They were bifocals, she claimed but had no lines. They were fresh and pricey, according to my aunt. She didn't seem to trust me when I attempted to convince her that there was no such thing as a line without one.

If you started with a frame with an A measurement around 20 mm perhaps! Or a lens with a progressing index. I have thought about this for years just can’t do the engineering.

Send her a link to these pictures:

Near Variable Focus lenses can give a perception of edge to edge near.

Also- Beware the Foster Grant OTC multifocal! Not that these are. Learn to recognize these OTC lenses that read +.75 distance with an "add" of +2.00. They will come back to bite you if you promise a conventional progressive matching the near fields performance.

Or my guess is they are an IOT Camber design which I'm hoping to try.

Didn't HappyLady post this exact same question, with nearly identical wording last year?

I am curious if anyone has heard of and/or tried OmniLux near addition lenses (not PAL)? They are out of Quest lab in Largo, FL.

"entire lens"?...............then its not a progressive. It's a single vision.
Stop and think about what a progressive is and how it is designed. Stop and think about what you asked for "ENTIRE". Which encompasses the whole lens, top, bottom, right side, left side and center......that will make it a single vision lens not a progressive.

Says it only required a PD, hmm makes me skeptical.

My thought would be some kind of "degressive" lens. Other than that, the comfort Max is supposed to be pretty good for this. Do you have a pic of the glasses?
