New York practical

Hello,

I've been a certified optician for over 20 years. I recently moved back to New York. I'll be taking the practical hopefully this fall. I'm having a tough time finding a study guide for this. I'm finding allot of ABO study guides, but is this the proper guide to use? I know I need to brush up on some details, as it's been over 20 years since I've taken the ABO. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

The only thing you absolutely must remember for the current NyS practical is to use a white piece of paper to focus the reticle when you first address a lens meter.

Thanks for the information. I was advised that I'd need to know allot of the same information that I needed for the ABO. For example, Prentice Rule, eye anatomy, etc... is that accurate? Should I brush up on an ABO study guide?

Were you able to get your license? I am trying to find mentors willing to help educate and offer guidance to trainees. There is a huge need for Opticians in NYS as I am sure you know.
