I've just run into a problem with our Optronics 7EX Edger. Its stuck on a startup screen thats says "initializing keypad" and has locked out the buttons.
Have tried calling the [no] help line but can't get through to anyone.
Any advice would help.

Check ribbon cable connections @ both keypad assy and CPU to make sure it is seated in.
I did have to replace keypad assy once on an my 7E so not that uncommon

Awesome! Thank you! (The above message wasposted by the boss) I'll check cables and see if that does the trick. It's not a particularly old edger, only 2-3 years I think, but I suppose those bits can still come loose over time. Cheers - will update here with eventual fix. We've also got a call into NO tech support as well, so hopefully we'll have it sorted soon.

So turns out we had a bad chuck, and in addition a blown chip on some such board, or another. (Getting the info 2nd hand here) But seems like it well and truly messed the bed on us yesterday. 2 weeks for parts.

Eventually anyway, I'm hoping. If after the 2 week wait, the new parts don't fix the issue, then it'll be on to deeper potential issues.
