This is an outstanding addition, John! In my view of the world, Opticians must expand their professional scope, and often we forget Low Vision as an avenue to advance ourselves. I hope people will pay attention to your video and think beyond measuring PDs and Seg Heights.

    Well done!

I am looking forward to watching the video. I used to work with low vision and I can tell you to under promise and over deliver. It is also expensive carrying magnifiers etc. A lot of low vision is really being a psychological counselor for these patients.

I was a Low Vision Dispenser at my last office for many many years, it not only broadened my optical intelligence, but allowed me to assist so many people in allowing them to see better and live a somewhat normal visual life with special equipment. Miss those days sometimes, but it allows me to better explain vision options to those that may not be Low Vision at this moment, but are heading that direction.

Finally had a time to watch the video. It really helps to have a good understanding of what is involved with working with a patient and working with low vision equipment. I would highly recommend that if you have a low vision specialist in the area that you ask to spend some time with them. Sit with them while they do a consult. Learn. It can really help you with your low vision patients. Than you can say... I would recommend you schedule a consult with Dr X. They have all sorts of things that might be helpful to you. And you can discuss this stuff like you know what you're talking about, rather than just say... call Dr X. They're the low vision guys.
