are there any AR out there that have NOTICEABLY less residual color than Crizal Sapphire (as in, an optician could see the difference looking at someone wearing them from more than a few feet away) ?

A clear AR can be made the problem is the customer can’t see it so it is hard to convince them that it is present. It also is difficult to produce talk to your AR supplier to see if they offer a clear product. Green reflex is the choice because it is called broad band meaning you can have some deviation in the stack and the result will look consistent.
Quantum has their Natural AR. Very little reflex. My favorite.
Kodak also has a version of clear AR.
Lensman11 is, unfortunately, correct about consumer biases.
I bend light. That is what I do.
@lensmanmd - what color is the minimal reflex on the Quantum Natural ?
is the residual on the Kodak Clean & Clear actually clear?
The problem with AR produced in small RX labs is that they are produced together for lenses of different refractive index. the result is a different reflection for each index. In the image you can see a simulation of a standard AR +/- with different types of substrate (the lowest reflection is CR39, followed by MR8 / MR10 / MR174
