I've been fighting a cold sore for a few days and my doc and myself think, because we are still masked, I've managed to breath the virus up into my eyes.
First the right eye (the side the sore was on), now the left, which, granted might have been spread by touch or surface like a towel or pillow cover.
So now I'm stuck as my Doc is following state Optometric Society recommendations to require masks when interacting with patients until the sore heals.
A dilemma and bummer.
And fwiw- Yes- I do believe in masks for our profession as long as those smarter than me* say we should.
I'm also thinking the wise choice is for me to take a few weeks off (with pay!) while I heal. My doc disagrees.
