    Compensation question

I received a job from the lab today. OU Rx. +0.75 -1.25 x 103. 2.75 add. Segs are 17 OU and PD is 32.5 OU. Frame is small metal. The lab kept the lens exactly the same on the left, but the right was compensated to +0.50 -1.25 x 77. That axis just doesn't make sense to me. Can that be correct?

Perhaps the lab thought that the right was a balance lens. How or why is a question for the person who entered @ the lab. Consider the degrees from primary meridians of 180 or 090. In the Rx, 103 is 13 from 90 as is 77 from 90. The power is dropped so that the same lap is not called for when running the job.

I have to agree with precisionlab. We get balance quite often and this is what we do. Mirror the axis @90 for cosmetics.
I bend light. That is what I do.

Use the compensator at the bottom of the Opti Board to verify your numbers.

Or don't, since it is obviously wrong...
