    Homemade DriveWear

Remember...remember when...when Younger introduced Drivewear, where it...where it was a polarized green for driving that darkened to a brown polar outdoors?

    Remember that?

    That was awesome!

Now, excluding the polarized green aspect, I want to re-create the Drivewear experience, without Drivewear. (But I'm still using Transitions! No harm, no foul.)

    How would I do it?

    I'm considering CR39 Transitions Extra Active with a 1.5 (~30%) overtint.

    Would that work?

I'd be hesitant to overtint a photochromic - the high heat of the bath can't be good for those delicate little silver halide crystals. But if your lab will give you a burner set of blanks - then give it a shot. *shrug*

I wonder if a chemistry clip comes in a light green polar? If it does put that over the top of the Trans Xtra Active lenses.

tmk, Chem clips’ only non polar is G-15. But all their lenses block UV’s which would diminish/limit/eliminate a trans lens ability to darken.
